Sky Primary and Eden Project Nursery

Working with modular contractor Reds10, the new 1FE Sky Primary and Eden Project Nursery building was completed, accommodatimg 210 primary school pupils aged 4-11 and a 26 place nursery as part of the new housing development of West Carclaze Garden Village in Cornwall. The building is part of the Department for Education's 'Free School Programme' and is net zero carbon in operation.

The 1,750m2 building was completed and handed over in September 2025 in time for full school occupation to begin the new academic school year. By using modern methods of construction, 87% of the building was constructed off site in Reds10 factory in Driffield before being transported to site.

To integrate the new school's design within the Cornish landscape, local stone has been used to clad the lower level of the building with metal cladding and fibre cement panels above to withstand the hard cornish weather. Alongside the new building, a multi use games area (MUGA) has been provided along with grass playing fields, soft planting areas, a dedicated habitat area for learning and outdoor play areas.

The school is at the centre of the new village and supports sustainable travel by encouraging pupils and parents to walk or cycle to school, rather than drive.
