Architectural Technical Advisor Projects
Sense of Space have worked on projects where we have acted as part of a team of client-side Technical Advisors to the DfE and/or Local Authorities, completing RIBA Stages 1-6 in this role.
This scope of work includes preparation of the Design Control Option, Feasibility Study, Adjacencies Diagrams, and Schedule of Accommodation in line with BB103, contributing to the formation of a brief and two-staged tender.
During the design development and construction, our role includes the provision of design and technical advice to the client body.

Alternative Provision Short Stay School
Sense of Space recently produced a Feasibility Report for combining two AP Short Stay Schools onto a single site. This was undertaken by combining two seperate schedules of accomodation and rationalising the floor plans to accomodate three cohorts of pupils in one combined school.
Horsforth School, Horsforth, Leeds
Sense of Space provided early support, producing a feasibility report and contributing to the educational case presented to the local authority to help secure funding for the expansion of Horsforth School.
Following the tender of the D&B works, Sense of Space were novated to the successful Contractor and helped deliver the full scheme.

Sixth Form Hub, Horsforth School
Following the completion of the new building, Horsforth School undertook a further scheme to provide a Sixth Form social space adjacent to the new expansion building.
Sense of Space provided the Stage 2 design proposals and feasibility that was tendered to D&B Contractors.

Dixons Trinity Chapeltown Academy, Harehills, Leeds
Sense of Space provided full Technical Advisor services for the construction of a new through primary and secondary school for Dixons Academy Trust in Harehills, Leeds.
Stage 1+2 work included providing the Control Option, Adjacency Diagrams, and Schedule of Accommodation. Through stages 3-6 Sense of Space acted as Technical Advisor to the DfE and commented on the design from the Main Contractor.

Croxley Danes Free School, Croxley, Watford
Sense of Space provided full Technical Advisor services for the construction of a new secondary school at Croxley Danes in Rickmansworth.
Stage 1+2 work included providing the Control Option, Adjacency Diagrams, and Schedule of Accommodation. Through stages 3-6 Sense of Space acted as Technical Advisor to the DfE and commented on the design from the Main Contractor.

Post 16 Academy Extension, Yorkshire
Sense of Space provided the initial concept design for the conversion and extension of a former warehouse building into a Post-16 College. The design delivered a new DT facility and the conversion of existing offices into teaching spaces.
